Episode #9

In this episode, we tackle some issues faced by teens as they explore Paganism. If you'll remember, I asked for some input from listeners on this one. I received two great responses from two teens: Coty and Ashley. Though their e-mails sent this episode in a bit of a different direction than what I was planning, they bring up some great questions and topics to think about.

Your Opinions Requested!

Hello, All!

A listener requested that I do a show about Pagan teen issues. Since a good portion of the closeted Pagan community happens to be comprised of teens and young adults, I thought the idea was a rather good one.

I've got some notions about material, but I'd like your help in putting this thing together. I'm planning on paying particular attention to the issues that earnestly searching teens often face as they attempt to break into the Pagan community for the first time and I'd love to hear any stories or opinions you have on the subject.

Do Pagan elders have a tendency to write off teens as flakey fashionistas who have watched too many movies? If "yes," why do you think this happens? Is this stereotype a little behind the times? If you either are or have been a Pagan teen in the closet or are just breaking into the Pagan community, what is/has been the most difficult thing for you with regards to your situation and your faith? How do you think Pagan elders and the rest of the community could help? What could we all do better?

Send me and e-mail (thebroomcloset@hotmail.com) and tell me what you think. Sound clips in mp3 format would be warmly welcomed! I'd like to have this show put together by the end of November, so give it a think and have your say.

Remember: If you wait for someone else to "go first" you're going to be waiting a rather long time. Be bold. Send me your two-cents!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Episode #8

Ever had occasion to correct the misinformed views of others about your religion and wound up utterly botching it? Philosophy can help! In this episode we'll talk a bit about apologetics--the prodigy of philosophy and theology--and why its important to Pagans, even those in the closet.
